Top Nine Money Store Commercials

Here’s your little known fact of the day: The Money Store is still in business! Who knew? I assumed they went out of business once Phil Rizzuto stopped being their spokesperson. But I was proved wrong when I accidentally stumbled upon their site while wasting time at work (TheMoneyStore.com). After clicking around for a while, I couldn’t help but reminisce about the great Rizzuto commercials from the past. Here are my Top 9:

  • THE MONEY STORE UNIVERSITY
    In one of his first commercials for TMS, Mr. Rizzuto plays the part of a teacher schooling his students on loans. He truly was a multi-talented man. Don’t worry, these commercials get better. VIDEO
  • HOLY COW, HE’S LATE
    Mr. Rizzuto takes his ride to the crazy New York highways in an attempt to get to TMS’ anniversary party. He better hurry. VIDEO
  • DON’T GO FAR
    Thanks to Mr. Rizzuto and TMS, we now know that we don’t need to hop on a rocket and go to the moon to get a good loan. Thank goodness. VIDEO
  • CONFUSION SETS IN
    Those pesky new tax laws sure are confusing. Good thing TMS is there to help. VIDEO
  • HOUSE CALL
    Not only would Mr. Rizzuto go to your house to talk about TMS, he’d also bring a marching band. VIDEO
  • DON’T BE AFRAID
    Luckily for one frightened couple, Mr. Rizzuto and TMS were there to ease their situation. VIDEO
  • AT HOME WITH PHIL
    To be honest, this isn’t Mr. Rizzuto’s best work. It was the classic overly-happy 1980s family that gave this commercial its high ranking. Just look how happy they are to be sitting around their dad while he calls TMS. VIDEO
  • SPREAD THE CHEER
    I must admit that I have been a little skeptical of Santa in the past. But after seeing Rizzuto talk to him on the phone in this commercial, I’m convinced. The guy is for real. VIDEO
  • THE GREAT PHILINI
    Just like in the field during his playing days, Rizzuto shows that he is a true magician. VIDEO
