This date in Yankees history: Jim Abbott's no-hitter

Jim Abbott forged a remarkable Major-League career, spending 10 seasons in the big leagues, two with the Yankees. Abbot finished his career with an 87-108 record and a 4.25 ERA, but his greatest moment undoubtedly came with New York on September 4, 1993, when Abbott tossed a no-hitter against the Indians at the Stadium.
