Yankees acquire LHP Francis from Athletics

Prior to tonight's game, the Yankees made the following roster moves:

Acquired LHP Jeff Francis and cash considerations from the Oakland Athletics in exchange for a player to be named later.

Recalled RHP Matt Daley from Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre.

Designated RHP Jim Miller for assignment.

Francis, 33, is 70-80 with a 4.95 ERA (1,267.1IP, 697ER) in his career, combining to make 238 appearances (217 starts) with Colorado (2004-10, '12-13), Kansas City (2011), Cincinnati (2014) and Oakland (2014). This season, he has combined to go 0-2 with a 5.89 ERA (18.1IP, 12ER) in 10 appearances (one start), last pitching on 7/2 at Detroit in a 9-3 Athletics loss (1.0IP, 1K).
