Cashman: Sabathia out until at least July
As reported by Joel Sherman of the New York Post, Yankees general manager Brian Cashman confirmed on Monday that left-hander CC Sabathia would be out until at least July. Sabathia recently received a stem cell treatment injection in his ailing right knee from noted specialist Dr. James Andrews.
Sabathia has not pitched since going on the disabled list on May 11, after experiencing inflammation and fluid in his right knee following a start against the Brewers in Milwaukee.
The Yankees' rotation is already missing Ivan Nova (out for the season following Tommy John surgery) and Michael Pineda (Grade 1 back strain), and will now have to make due without Sabathia for at least the next six weeks.
