Giants draft Heisman Trophy finalist Williams
Boston College product led nation in rushing during his senior year
The 6-foot-0, 227-pound Williams was a workhorse for Boston College last season, carrying the ball 355 times for 2,177 yards and 18 touchdowns.
The Giants chose Williams on Saturday despite his inexperience in the passing game, considered a necessity for NFL prospects. Williams caught only 10 passes during his career and none in 2013.
Williams rushed for 267 yards and five touchdowns in a win over Army last October, then had three consecutive games to remember in November, going for 295 yards and two touchdowns on 30 carries in a win over New Mexico State, 339 yards and two touchdowns on 42 carries in a win over North Carolina State and had 263 yards and two scores on 32 carries a win over Maryland.
