The New York Knicks ended their 2013-14 season with a disappointing 37-45 record and failed to make the playoffs. Newly-appointed Knicks president Phil Jackson reacted by firing the majority of the Knicks coaching staff, including head coach Mike Woodson. Jackson addressed the media stating, "I have a tremendous amount of respect for Mike Woodson and his entire staff. The coaches and players on this team had an extremely difficult 2013-14 season, and blame should not be put on one individual. But the time has come for change throughout the franchise as we start the journey to assess and build this team for next season and beyond." Media members & fans took to Twitter to share their thoughts on Woodson leaving the team.
