Nets win 10th straight game at home with win against Bobcats

NEW YORK (AP) Deron Williams scored 23 points, Joe Johnson added 20 and the Brooklyn Nets overcame a late deficit to win their 10th straight at home, beating the Charlotte Bobcats 104-99 Wednesday night.

Williams scored 11 of his points in the final six minutes.

Al Jefferson scored 18 points for Charlotte and Gary Neal added 17.

After Josh McRoberts' dunk and free throw gave the Bobcats an 85-82 lead, Williams hit a driving layup with 6:00 left, then a 3-pointer on the next possession. He followed that with a steal and two free throws to give the Nets an 89-85 lead with 5:22 remaining.

Brooklyn never trailed again, but Charlotte got within 98-95 before Williams hit a foul line jumper with 37 seconds left.

After Shaun Livingston hit a free throw with 21 seconds to play, Neal hit a 3-pointer to bring the Bobcats to within three, 101-98 with 17 seconds left.

But Williams hit two more free throws with 16 seconds remaining.

Neal added a free throw, but McRoberts missed a 3-point attempt and Johnson added a free throw with 9 seconds left for the final score.

The Nets took their biggest lead of the game at 38-25 on Marcus Thornton's 3-pointer with 8:19 left in the first half.

The Bobcats responded with a 17-2 run and took a 42-40 lead when Chris Douglas-Roberts hit a 3-pointer with 4:39 left

The Bobcats' began the game on a 6-0 run, their largest lead of the night.

Livingston finished with 17 points. Andray Blatche had 13. Thornton and Mason Plumlee each had 11.

Douglas-Roberts and Gerald Henderson had 13 each for the Bobcats.

NOTES: The Nets haven't lost at home since Jan. 31 against Oklahoma City . Brooklyn's home winning streak is the longest current streak in the NBA and is the franchise's longest since the New Jersey Nets won 12 straight from Dec. 16, 2005 to Feb. 8, 2006. . Brooklyn has beaten Charlotte nine of the last 10 meetings, with the Bobcats' only victory during that span coming on Nov. 20, 2013. Before that, Charlotte hadn't won in the series since April 11, 2011.
