The Yankees made a dozen cuts prior to Tuesday's game against the Red Sox, optioning outfielder Ramon Flores to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre and reassigning 11 players to minor league camp.

Those reassigned included: RHPs Bruce Billings, Robert Coello, Brian Gordon, Mark Montgomery, and Chase Whitley; catchers Francisco Arcia and Pete O'Brien; infielders Corban Joseph and Jose Pirela; and outfielders Tyler Austin and Mason Williams.

Flores, the lone member of the 40-man roster cut Tuesday, had played in 14 games this spring, going 7-for-26 (.269) with one home run, 5 RBI, and two outfield assists.

Among those also reassigned, Austin had yet to play this spring because of issues with his surgically-repaired wrist, while Pirela in particular had impressed, going 8-for-21 (.381) in 14 games.

Combined with Sunday's move optioning LHP Manny Banuelos to Class-A Advanced Tampa, the cuts leave the Yankees with 47 players in camp, a total that includes rehabbing RHP Andrew Bailey.
