Moosic, Pa. -- Much has been made this off-season about the inaugural season of the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders (Triple-A/New York Yankees) and their award-winning reconstructed home of PNC Field. But today, the International League gave a huge tip of the cap for the lifetime achievements of the RailRiders' on-field leader. Veteran manager Dave Miley has gotten the call to the IL Hall Fame as a Class of 2014 member.

Miley, former IL MVP Jeff Manto and longtime Toledo broadcaster Jim Weber were elected to the IL Hall by a vote of living Hall of Famers, longtime executives, broadcasters and members of the media. All three have been added to the IL Hall of Fame plaque display. They will be presented with "The Curtain Call" statue at individual enshrinement ceremonies during the coming season. The IL Hall of Fame plaque display does not have a permanent home, but rather serves as a traveling testament to the storied legacy of the circuit.

Miley's ceremony will take place on Saturday, June 7 when the RailRiders host the Toldeo Mud Hens (Detroit Tigers). The first 2,500 fans through the gates that day will receive a Dave Miley statue as part of the team's season-long celebration of 25 years of SWB baseball. Miley won a fan vote this off-season to have his likeness turned into a giveaway item.

Winner of well over 1,000 IL games, Miley earned his induction in the midst of a distinguished career as an IL manager. The two-time IL Manager of the Year was at the helm for the only Governors' Cup titles in the history of both the Louisville and SWB franchises. The former Cincinnati Reds manager added to his legendary resume in 2013 when he skippered the Triple-A All-Star game for a record-tying third time.

The RailRiders' 2014 season begins on Thursday, April 3 when the club kicks off a seven-game road trip at Syracuse against the Chiefs (Washington Nationals). The home slate commences a week later on Thursday, April 10 when the Chiefs visit PNC Field for a four-game series and homestand.
