New York Islanders looking forward to playing at Barclays Center

In October 2012, the New York Islanders announced that their franchise will be leaving the Nassau Coliseum and moving to Brooklyn’s Barclays Center as of the 2015-16 season.

On Sept. 21 of this year, however, Barclays Center got its first-ever taste of NHL hockey by hosting a preseason game between the Islanders and the New Jersey Devils – and while it was only the second time the Islanders had skated on Barclays ice (following a practice days prior to the game), the team was quite happy with the atmosphere.
