Here's one you don't see every day (or ever, really): Mariano Rivera in the batter's box.(AP)
Two months after christening their own new home, Mariano Rivera and the Yankees paid their first visit to their cross-town rival Mets’ new digs...and with one milestone on the horizon on June 28, Mo ended up leaving Citi Field with two milestones.

After coming in that night to get the final out of the eighth, Rivera likely thought he wouldn’t bat with the pitcher’s spot due up sixth – but, with two on and two outs, Francisco Rodriguez intentionally walked Derek Jeter to bring up “The Sandman” with the bases loaded for just the third regular-season plate appearance of his career.

In a moment K-Rod would almost certainly like to have back, he proceeded to walk Mo on a 3-2 pitch, forcing in an insurance run that gave Rivera his first career RBI…and roughly 15 minutes later, he finished the bottom of the ninth to get his 500th career save.

Not a bad way to make your presence felt at a new locale, eh?
