In a Monday swap of former first-round picks, the San Francisco 49ers acquired wide receiver Jonathan Baldwin from the Kansas City Chiefs in exchange for wide receiver A.J. Jenkins.

Baldwin was the No. 26 overall pick in 2011 but had just 41 catches for 579 yards and two touchdowns in his first two NFL seasons and has been plagued by dropped passes throughout his career.

Meanwhile, Jenkins was the No. 30 pick by the Niners last year but was active for only three games as a rookie;  he played just 37 offensive snaps and was targeted just once, dropping the only pass that was thrown his way in Week 17.

Jenkins will be reunited in Kansas City with quarterback Alex Smith who started 10 games for the Niners last season but was traded to the Chiefs in March for a second-round pick in the 2013 Draft - a pick that the Niners later flipped to the Titans, who somewhat ironically used it to select a wide receiver, University of Tennessee standout Justin Hunter, at No. 34 overall.
