Before he tries to help the New York Knicks win an NBA Title this season, Amar’e Stoudemire will have a chance to help one lucky young lady live a pageant dream.

Stoudemire was one of seven named on Tuesday as part of the panel of judges for the Miss America 2014 Pageant, which will be held at Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City on September 15. “Stat” is the only pro athlete on the panel, which also includes former ‘N Sync singer Lance Bass, Grammy-winning violinist Joshua Bell, comedian Mario Cantone, and 2005 Miss America Dr. Deidre Downs Gunn, who was the last Miss America crowned in Atlantic City.

ABC will broadcast the event, and the network also has two of its personalities on the panel: investor Barbara Corcoran from the prime-time entrepreneurial show "Shark Tank" and “The Chew” co-host Carla Hall.

The 87th Miss America Pageant marks both a venue change and date change for the event; held in the fall in Atlantic City until 2004, the pageant was moved ahead to January and relocated to Las Vegas for the 2006 pageant, which meant that Downs’ reign as 2005 Miss America lasted 16 months instead of 12.

The event’s return to its former home and season also means that the reigning Miss America, Mallory Hagan, will crown her successor after only eight months on the job.
