People who grow up watching and playing golf can only dream of being a factor on the Sunday of a major tournament -- and the PGA is turning this fantasy of the casual fan into a reality for the final major of the year.

For this year's PGA Championship, set for August 8-11 at Oak Hill in Rochester, N.Y., fans will be able to select the pin location for the 15th hole on Sunday. Voting is already open and will be held online at this link, and there are four different options to choose from - all of them logical enough that they won't affect the result of the major beyond a player's control.

Of course, the locations are predetermined, but some golf writers have already had a little fun with the idea, including this tweet from Jason Sobel of The Golf Channel:

This will be the third time the PGA Championship has been held on the East Course at Oak Hills; Shaun Micheel won the event the last time it was there in 2003, and Jack Nicklaus won his fifth and final PGA Championship there in 1980.
