The Miami Heat made their first personnel move of the NBA offseason on Wednesday, picking up their team option on starting point guard Mario Chalmers.

Chalmers will make $4 million in 2013-14, which will be his sixth year in South Beach. He has started 277 of his 368 games with the Heat, who acquired him on the night of the 2008 Draft after he was selected by Minnesota in the second round.

The 27-year-old averaged 8.6 points, 3.5 assists and 1.5 steals per game and hit a career-high 123 three-pointers in 2012-13, helping the Heat win their second straight NBA title.
