Former Yankees outfielder Ben Francisco and the San Diego Padres have agreed on a Minor League contract.

Francisco, 31, started the 2013 season with the Yankees, but was designated for assignment on May 26 and eventually released on June 3. In 44 at-bats for the Yankees, the outfielder recorded five base hits, for a .114 average.

The Padres will be Francisco's seventh team in as many seasons, after spending the first six years of his career with just the Indians and Phillies. He is a career .253 hitter, with 50 home runs and 190 RBIs.
