The Dallas Cowboys' 2013 draft board was revealed online
Through a series of screen shots taken during TV interviews with team owner Jerry Jones -- with the Cowboys' draft board in the background -- the complete draft board was pieced together by Bloggingtheboys.com.
NFL teams are notorious for protecting trade secrets so a glimpse into the strategy of one team is a rarity.
The Cowboys only had 18 players with a first round grade on their board. With only five of those players still on the board when the Cowboys were on the clock with the No. 18 overall pick, the team traded down -- it stands to reason the Cowboys had decided to trade the pick well ahead of time.
When they eventually made their first pick, the Cowboys chose center Travis Frederick with the No. 31 overall selection in the first round. Interestingly, Frederick had a second round grade on the Cowboys' board.
The Cowboys had third round grades on three players that were selected in the first round: Kyle Long (No. 20 overall), Desmond Trufant (No. 22) and Datone Jones (No. 26).
Ryan Nassib, Matt Barkley and Geno Smith were the top-rated quarterbacks on the Cowboys' board -- all rated as second round prospects. The Cowboys did not select a quarterback.
This is the second time in four years the Cowboys' draft board has been revealed in similar fashion.
