Joe Namath to attend Pro Football Hall of Fame opening
The celebration will mark the completion of a $27 million expansion and renovation job. "Broadway Joe," a 1985 Hall of Fame enshrinee, will join local officials at the ribbon cutting ceremony on June 1.
The renovation was a two-year project and added 37,000 square feet, new interactive exhibits and a Hall of Fame store to the Canton, Ohio destination. The first level of the new space takes a historic look at football that dates back to the foundations of the game. The second level focuses on popular themes and storylines of the game.
It's been a busy Spring for the former New York Jets quarterback and Super Bowl III MVP. Namath appeared at the NFL Draft in New York in April and earlier this month, the NFL Films/HBO movie "Namath", which chronicled Namath's life, won a Sports Emmy for best sports documentary.
