Left-handed pitcher Francisco Rondon, who was designated for assignment by the Yankees on Saturday, has cleared waivers and been outrighted back to Double-A Trenton.

Rondon, 25, was designated on Saturday when the Yankees claimed LHP David Huff off waivers from Cleveland. He spent most of Spring Training in Major League camp and began the year in the Thunder’s rotation, but was moved to the bullpen in early May after going 2-2 with a 7.16 ERA in six starts.

Overall in 2013, Rondon is 2-3 with a 7.46 ERA in 12 appearances with Trenton.

To re-accommodate Rondon on the roster, Trenton placed RHP Danny Burawa, who is 1-2 with one save and a 4.05 ERA in 18 appearances for the Thunder this season, on the 7-day disabled list with left knee bursitis.
