New York Jets rookie quarterback Geno Smith announced that he has hired Roc Nation Sports as his representative.

Kim Miale -- recently hired by Roc Nation -- will serve as Smith's contract agent. Roc Nation, the new sports agency founded by media mogul Jay-Z, is quickly building a formidable roster of clients, including Robinson Cano of the New York Yankees.

"I think it's a good move," Smith said Wednesday. "My family is comfortable with it. I'm comfortable with it."

The New York Daily News first reported on the signing.

Smith dismissed Select Sports shortly after he was selected in the second round of the 2013 NFL draft in April reportedly because he believed he should have been a first-round selection.

The Jets and Smith have yet to agree on the rookie's contract.
