Nets assign Toko Shengelia to D-League
Shengelia has played 13 games for the Nets this season, averaging 1.4 points in 4.2 minutes per game, but hasn’t played since Jan. 11 and missed a few weeks of action earlier this season after suffering a concussion.
This is Shengelia’s third assignment to the D-League times this season, and both of his previous trips have been fruitful; he recorded a triple-double in his D-League debut back in December, then was named NBDL Performer of the Week in late-January after a pair of games that saw him average 31.5 points, 15.5 rebounds, and 4.5 assists while shooting 76 percent.
While the Nets are hosting Dallas at Barclays Center Friday, Shengelia will be in uniform for the Armor when they travel to Fort Wayne to play the Mad Ants.
