Tampa Bay Buccaneers defensive end Da'Quan Bowers was arrested after a loaded handgun was found in his luggage at LaGuardia Airport on Monday. Bowers, who was about to board a U.S. Airways flight to Raleigh, N.C., was found with a .40-caliber weapon during a search of his carry-on bag.

After his arrest, Bowers was arraigned on charges of criminal possession of a weapon and was released on a $10,000 bond. The Buccaneers say that they are gathering information about the incident and will not comment until they have all of the facts of the case.

Bowers was a standout at Clemson University before being selected 51st overall in the second round of the 2011 NFL Draft. The 2010 unanimous All-American and ACC Defensive Player of the Year, has recorded 38 tackles and 4.5 sacks in his first two seasons in the NFL.
