Jack Curry to receive NJSWA Broadcast Excellence Award
Yankees analyst to be honored by Garden State group on Sunday
On Sunday morning, Jack will receive the Broadcast Excellence Award at the New Jersey Sports Writers Association banquet in Edison, New Jersey, adding more hardware to a career that includes several journalism awards as well as accolades earned as part of YES Network’s Emmy Award-winning Yankees coverage.
Each year, the NJSWA banquet honors a variety of sports figures with New Jersey ties. Curry is a life-long Garden State resident who grew up in Hudson County and is a graduate of Hudson Catholic Regional High School in Jersey City.
Prior to joining YES Network as a Yankees analyst and YESNetwork.com contributor in 2010, Curry spent more than 20 years at the New York Times as both a Yankees beat writer and National baseball writer, earning a Pulitzer Prize nomination along the way. Also, in 2000, he co-wrote the New York Times best-seller Life You Imagine: Life Lessons For Achieving Your Dreams with Yankees Captain Derek Jeter.
