Want to test your football prognostication skills against the experts of This Week in Football? This season, you have the chance!
Each week, we will post the TWIF panel’s picks for every game on the NFL slate here on YESNetwork.com, so you can see how your thoughts compare to those of Ryan Ruocco, Howard Cross, Ross Tucker, and Gary Myers. In addition, we’ll also be keeping a tally of how Ryan and the gang do all season, so come January you’ll see who has bragging rights as the big winner among the panel.
You can keep track of your record and see if you end up beating the experts...and of course, don't forget to watch This Week in Football every Tuesday during the NFL season on YES!
We're down to the nitty gritty, and NFL Week 16 was a good one for the TWIF panel. Ryan, Howard, Ross, and Gary went 10-2 on their unanimous picks this week, and Howard went 3-1 in the other four games to finish 13-3 and sit atop the weekly leaderboard. Ryan and Ross both went 11-5, and with Gary finishing 10-6, Ryan has a one-game lead over Gary in the yearly standings heading into the final pick set of 2012.
And now, it is Week 17, the final showdown at the TWIF picks corral. All 16 games are on Sunday, and everyone is still technically mathematically alive in the race for the overall trophy, but with the panel unanimous on 10 of 16 games and Howard agreeing with Ryan on two others, neither Ross nor Howard can overtake a share of the lead.
That makes it a battle of Ruocco vs. Myers for the title, and with Giants-Eagles, Ravens-Bengals, and Bears-Lions their only differing picks, Gary needs a Giants/Bengals/Bears sweep to take the title outright. Whatever does happen in Week 17, however, everyone will finish with a winning percentage between .588 and .682, so all four men deserve kudos for picking the majority of this season’s 256 games correctly.
With that said, let’s take a look at the penultimate standings…

Howard Cross: 13-3 (.813)
