Teixeira honored at Dinner of Champions

At the Connecticut MS Society's Dinner of Champions, Yankees first baseman Mark Teixeira was given the J. Walter Kennedy Award as the organization's sports honoree. Teixeira, a Connecticut resident, helped the group raise money for research about Multiple sclerosis.
"The MS Society does so many great things for people everywhere," Teixeira said at the event. "I know the Yankees are proud to be a part of this, and I'm proud to be a part of this."
