Yankees, YES among most valuable brands
The most-watched Regional Sports Network in the world, YES was ranked No. 7 with a brand value of $600 million, according to Forbes. The “Fab 40” lists the Top 10 brands in sports in four categories – business, events, athletes, and teams – and this is the third straight year that YES has ranked in Forbes’ Top 10 business brands.
This year, the Top 10 also includes four national apparel brands, three networks (including fellow RSN NESN, which ranked ninth), sports marketing giant IMG, and MLB Advanced Media, which runs MLB.com and provides streaming infrastructure for several other sports sites, including CBS and ESPN.
The YES Network also saw two of its three tenant teams on the list of most valuable team brands, with the Yankees topping the list with a $363 million value and Arsenal placing tenth at $156 million.
Among the other two lists, the World Series and MLB All-Star Game both placed in the Events Top 10, with the Fall Classic placing fourth ($130 million) and the Mid-Summer Classic ranking tenth ($78 million), and Tiger Woods ranked atop the list of most valuable athlete brands.
