Nets-Knicks rescheduled for Nov. 26
The game, which was originally set to be the season opener for both teams, was officially postponed by the league on Wednesday at the request of New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg because of the damage the city incurred from Hurricane Sandy – which included a shutdown of all of NYC’s mass transit systems and many of the bridges and tunnels linking the five boroughs and northern New Jersey.
In addition, the league has confirmed that the Knicks’ scheduled home opener against Miami at Madison Square Garden on Friday will go on as planned, as will the Nets’ now-opener against Toronto at Barclays Center on Saturday night.
Nets CEO Brett Yormark said in a statement Wednesday that on Saturday, Barclays Center doors will open at 5:30 p.m. for the scheduled 7:30 p.m. game, and fans who arrive early can enjoy select food and beverage specials between 5:30 and 7 p.m.
