
Stats Update: Yankees in the AFL

The Scottsdale Scorpions played the 16th and 17th games of their 32-game schedule on Friday and Saturday respectively, ending the first half with an 8-4 loss to Mesa and beginning the second by tying Phoenix 8-8 for their first draw of the season.
The Arizona Fall League does not convene on Sundays, so as of Monday morning, Scottsdale’s record remained at 8-8-1, putting them one game behind the 9-7-1 Salt River Rafters for first place in the AFL East Division.
Of the septet of Yankees prospects playing under Scorpions manager Carlos Mendoza, the hurlers in particular are part of a pitching staff that is second in the six-team AFL in runs and earned runs allowed, leads the league in shutouts, and has given up the least home runs in the league.
