Nets waive two, trim roster to 15
Scott, 24, earned an invitation to Nets training camp after averaging 8.0 points and 5.4 rebounds per game for Brooklyn’s Orlando Summer League team back in July; he played in three of the Nets’ six pre-season games, averaging 3.0 points and 3.3 rebounds.
Mays, 26, played in a pair of pre-season tilts, scoring six points and notching four rebounds in limited minutes.
Although the moves to cut Scott and Mays were expected, they do officially mean that both Andray Blatche and Josh Childress, who were both signed to non-guaranteed veteran deals last month, have made the team.
