Mike's On: Girardi on the season's conclusion
Yankees manager Joe Girardi joined Mike Francesa on Friday to discuss the conclusion to the 2012 season, with his team being swept by the Tigers in the ALCS. Girardi spoke about his players' struggles at the plate, the lineup decisions that were made and his mindset as the series swung to Detroit.
But while the Yankees fell short of their stated goal, Girardi also said he has much to be proud of given the rash of injuries the club endured, and he believes that, in winning 95 games and the AL East, they accomplished a lot.
