ALDS Game 3 lineups
A-Rod is 1-for-9 with five strikeouts in the series and there was a call to drop him in the order. Yankees manager Joe Girardi might be thinking that against the right handed Miguel Gonzalez that he breaks up the lefty-heavy Yankees lineup in the middle of the order.
Chavez is also in the lineup because of all the Yankees, he hits Gonzalez the best. He is 3-for-6 with a home run and two RBIs against the rookie. On the flip side of things, Nick Swisher, Curtis Granderson, Robinson Cano and Mark Teixeira are a combined 0-for-21 against the youngster with 12 strikeouts. With that being the case, there isn't much of a point of moving guys that struggle against Gonzalez up in the order.
We'll see how this plays out this evening, but the Yankees will continue to go with Ichiro in the two hole, Swisher in the five and Teixeira in the sixth spot.
