NEW YORK (AP) -- Mark Teixeira has returned to the New York Yankees' lineup following a left calf injury.
Teixeira was down to bat fifth and play first base in Monday night's game against Boston, the start of a three-game series that is to end the regular season. He injured his left calf Aug. 27 and returned Sept. 8 at Baltimore but aggravated the injury diving into first base on a game-ending groundout and has not played since.
New York also scratched struggling pitcher Ivan Nova from his scheduled start Tuesday and replaced him with David Phelps.
