Giants' Amukamara inactive against Bucs
EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. (AP) -- Giants cornerback Prince Amukamara and linebacker Keith Rivers were inactive for their game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Sunday.
Amukamara was projected as a starter for the Super Bowl champions after Terrell Thomas was lost for the second straight season with a knee injury. He has missed both regular-season games with a high ankle sprain. Rookie Jayron Hosley got the start Sunday.
Rivers has a hamstring injury.
Bucs starting right tackle Jeremy Trueblood was inactive with an ankle injury. Demar Dotson replaced him.
Defensive tackle Marvin Austin, the Giants' second-round draft pick in 2011, was active for the first time in his career. He missed last season with a pectoral injury and the opener against Dallas with back issues.
