Pedro Feliciano came through his second rehab appearance in the Gulf Coast League with flying colors, pitching a perfect first inning in the GCL Yankees’ game against the GCL Pirates on Tuesday afternoon.

After allowing a walk and a hit before striking out the side in his first rehab appearance on Friday, Feliciano was much more economical this time out; needing only about a dozen pitches, the lefty retired both Gustavo Nunez and Elvis Escobar on infield ground outs before punctuating the performance by striking out Jonathan Schwind looking.

Feliciano had three days off in between his first and second appearances, and while there is no word as of yet on his third, he is likely to pitch in at least one more GCL game this week before being moved up to a higher level.

The 35-year-old Feliciano’s 30-day rehab window expires on September 9, at which time he could be added to the Yankees’ Major League roster for the first time since being signed prior to the 2011 season.
