Joba perfect in third rehab outing
Chamberlain has now pitched four innings over three appearances in the Gulf Coast League, and has not allowed a hit or an earned run while striking out six. He hit 98 MPH on the radar gun once again Tuesday, and according to a Tweet by Newsday's Erik Boland, Joba's next step will be a two-inning outing for the Class-A Tampa Yankees on Friday.
In addition to Chamberlain, Tuesday’s GCL Yankees lineup featured two other familiar faces in catcher Austin Romine and infielder Eduardo Nunez. Romine, who is rehabbing a back injury that has kept him out of action all season, was 1-for-2 with a double in five innings behind the plate, while Nunez (thumb) was 0-for-1 in three innings at shortstop and handled the only ball put in play against Chamberlain.
The Phillies won the game, 4-2.
