Re-signing Humphries is Nets' top priority
"We're in negotiations now. So the goal is to re-sign him. It's going to be about money, so we've got to negotiate that part," said King. Later, King told YES Ian Eagle, ""The priority right now is re-signing Kris Humphries… And then we need a backup point." King asked the state of talks called them "close."
Vecsey tweeted, "Nets working to re-up Humphries. Contrary to reports, there is no bidding war going on. He wants to return. $ & yrs being worked on." Thursday, Marc Stein reported the Bobcats and Nets were in a "bidding war,"with the Nets offering $24 million and the Bobcats two million less.
Beyond Hump, Vecsey added, "Nets also are considering signing Grant Hill. You'd think Lakers (Nash) and ultimately Rockets (w/Howard) would want him. No offers yet.
