Mets promote Valdespin, DFA Hampson

NEW YORK (AP) -- The New York Mets have recalled infielder Jordany Valdespin from Triple-A Buffalo and designated left-hander Justin Hampson for assignment.
The Mets made the moves before Wednesday's game against Philadelphia.
The 24-year-old Valdespin joined the Mets for the fourth time this season. He is hitting .222 with two home runs and 12 RBIs with New York.
Hampson pitched in three games for the Mets without a decision. The 32-year-old allowed two unearned runs in 1 1/3 innings.
