A picture is worth a thousand words, but three teenage girls need only six to describe the accidental souvenir they got prior to Saturday’s Rangers-Athletics game in Arlington, Texas: “We got photobombed by Josh Hamilton.”

Attending the game as a birthday gift, Amber Dressler asked father Jon to take a photo of her and friends Alyson McIlvanie and Sarah Lehman sitting on top of the home dugout.

However, as dad snapped the pic, he also unknowingly captured the 2010 American League MVP in the background, waving hello to the camera.

The Rangers posted Hamilton’s “photobomb” on their Facebook page on Sunday, and as of Tuesday morning, the picture had more than 26,000 likes and 1,100 comments.

"I was just thinking how amazing it was that he was in the background of our picture because we all love him," Amber Dressler told a Dallas news affiliate on Sunday. "He's Josh Hamilton!"

Hamilton has always been a fan favorite in Texas, and this year set a new Major League record by racking up more than 11.1 million votes for the 2012 MLB All-Star Game.

He is batting .314 this season with 25 home runs, 73 RBI, and at least three new life-long fans.
