Baby-toting fan snags foul ball in Atlanta
During the sixth inning of Monday night’s Braves-Cubs game in Atlanta, a Braves fan in the right field stands stuck out his left hand and made a great bare-handed grab of Alfonso Soriano’s foul ball down the line.
What made the catch even more impressive? The man was cradling a baby in his right arm, and kept the infant snugly tucked in while fighting off another reaching fan to make the grab.
The snag even impressed Braves shortstop Andrelton Simmons, who was shown clapping on the field before the next pitch to Soriano.
Not only does the fan have a game-used souvenir, but he also has quite the story to tell the youngster in the future. And, given that the man was wearing a Braves cap and the baby was dressed in Cubs gear, it may be the centerpiece of a life-long parent-child baseball rivalry.
You can watch the video of the fan’s impressive grab below.
