Williams gets birthday billboard from Nets
June 26 is Deron Williams’ birthday, and the Brooklyn Nets left their point guard a 28th birthday message that might even make John Cusack’s character in “Say Anything” blush with envy.
This morning, Williams found a large billboard sitting on a truck parked outside his home, with the billboard reading “HAPPY BIRTHDAY DERON! from your Brooklyn family.”
The Nets posted a photo of the truck on their official Twitter account Tuesday morning, with the accompanying Tweet reading “Have you seen this today? ?#HappyBdayDWill.”
Williams’ wife Amy also Tweeted pictorial evidence of her husband’s gift as well.
The three-time NBA All-Star averaged 21 points and 8.7 assists last season with the Nets, but is set to become a free agent on July 1. Over the weekend, it was reported that Williams has narrowed down his preference to two teams and will either remain in Brooklyn or join the Dallas Mavericks.
