Chamberlain involved in minor auto accident
According to Yankees general manager Brian Cashman, Chamberlain was involved in the fender-bender on his way to the team’s Minor League complex Thursday morning, but the only setback was his tardiness to a scheduled rehab workout.
“Heard he (Chamberlain) was hit from behind," Cashman said late Thursday afternoon, according to Newsday. “He said he was OK. It prevented him from getting to the complex because he had to fill out a police report."
Despite the missed workout, Chamberlain, who is rapidly progressing in his rehab from Tommy John surgery late last season, is scheduled to throw live batting practice Monday – his first live action since suffering an open dislocation of his right ankle in a trampoline accident in March.
