Jose Canseco’s quest to remain relevant in the baseball community could be nearing its conclusion, as the former American League MVP may be parting ways with his Massachusetts based-team, the Worcester Tornadoes.

Tornado teammate Cameron Monger kicked off the speculation earlier this morning when he tweeted: “Tonight will be @JoseCanseco’s last game with the #Tornadoes. Hope he goes out with a bang.”

The eye-opening tweet, which has since been deleted, comes just days after Monger tweeted: “Not that I know anything, but if you want to see our ‘star’ player play I would suggest coming to a game this week. #JustSaying #Tornadoes.”

Canseco signed a one-season contract with the Worcester Tornadoes on April 20 for $1,000 a month. The 47-year-old Canseco is hitting .188 with one home run and six RBI over the course of 18 games.
