Jets sign third-round pick Demario Davis
FLORHAM PARK, N.J. (AP) -- The New York Jets have signed linebacker Demario Davis, their third-round draft pick, to a four-year deal.
Davis, whom Jets coach Rex Ryan compared to Ray Lewis for his leadership qualities, is expected to give New York's defense some depth as he backs up veteran Bart Scott. The speedy 6-foot-2, 235-pound Davis had 230 tackles and seven sacks in four seasons at Arkansas State.
Wide receiver Jordan White, a seventh-round pick who recently broke his left foot during a session of organized team activities, is the Jets' only unsigned draft choice.
