There may be one title of Mark Sanchez’ that Tim Tebow isn’t a threat to: New York football’s most eligible bachelor.

Tebow, of course, is a devout Christian and has expressed his desire to remain a virgin until marriage, two traits that Olympic hurdler Lolo Jones recently revealed that she shares as well.

But after a potentially facetious matchmaking attempt by one of Tebow’s teammates on Twitter Tuesday, the Olympian may have accidentally revealed that she and her gridiron compadre don’t necessarily share the same relationship status.

“I’m trying to get @TimTebow to accept that he and @lolojones are a match made in heaven. #Lobow,” read the initial Tweet by Jets center and Cupid impersonator Nick Mangold.

Mangold’s Twitter bio says he “tries to find the humor in everything while promoting the virtues of being manly,” so his Cupid impression could be seen as harmless at worst and life-changing at best, right?

Not so fast, although the latter may end up being true if Jones’ reply is.

“@nickmangold thanks Nick but i actually heard tebow has a girlfriend he just isn't saying it publicly. the search continues...” Jones Tweeted back, likely sending New York gossip columnists into frenzy with just 140 simple characters.

Tebow is a rather private individual, so likely only he and his potential lady friend know if Jones’ assertion is true – although Mangold did finish the online love story by assuring the Iowa-born beauty that he would “try to get some answers and report back.”
