Lawrence Taylor selling Super Bowl XXV ring

Lot #981 on the auction website scpauctions.com went up this week, and it is a one of a kind offering: Lawrence Taylor’s Super Bowl XXV ring.
The size 12 ring, which Taylor won on January 27, 1991 when the Giants defeated the Bills in Tampa, is “the most significant Super Bowl player ring ever offered publicly,” according to the auction’s item description, and comes with a notarized letter of authenticity from LT himself.
The ring itself features 19 diamonds on the face, Taylor’s name and number on one side with the game’s score on the other, and LT’s full name engraved on the interior band. And, according to the auction, the ring “shows considerable wear, which in some eyes, only enhances it aura.”
The bidding, which ends Saturday at 10 p.m. EST, started at $10,000 and as of early Thursday afternoon was up to more than $45,000.
