Pettitte to start for Yankees on Sunday
After a year in retirement and a half-dozen Minor League starts this season, Andy Pettitte will officially be back in pinstripes as of this weekend.
Yankees General Manager Brian Cashman announced on Tuesday that Pettitte will return to the Major Leagues on Sunday, and will start against the Seattle Mariners at Yankee Stadium in the final game of the team’s six-game homestand. Game time for Sunday is 1:05 p.m., with coverage live on YES Network.
Ivan Nova will start Tuesday night’s homestand opener against Tampa Bay as scheduled, but there is no word as of yet how the rest of the rotation will shake out prior to Sunday.
